Sunday 27 January: Abercynon-Aberfan (Taff Trail).Meet at 11:00 at Abercynon Fire station, circular 6 mile walk crossing the Rivers Taff and Cynon. Along the Tramway(first steam railway in the world) to Aberfan cemetery and then back along Abercynon ridgeway. Bring picnic, soup after. Contact David 01443 740183

Sunday 24 February: North Gower. Estuary walk A 6 mile walk through nature reserve, pine forests and sand dunes to Whitford Point. Bird watching in the Loughor estuary. 11:00 meet in car park at the end of Llanmadoc village-signed Whitford beach car park. OS159 ref 439935contact: Ian 029 2061 2853

Sunday 30 March: Ystradfellte Waterfalls. Meet at Ystradfellte Church at 11:00. OS 160, 733188 for a 7 mile walk visiting Porth yr Ogof caves and Sgwd yr Eira (overhanging falls). Bring picnic . Contact Chris 0117 963 6847

Sunday 27 April: Llanthony priory/Offa’s Dyke.Meet at 11:00 at Llanthony Priory. Walk through Llanthony valley by the River Honddu. Lunch at Cwm Moy.6 miles. Then up to Offa’s Dyke with panoramic views, returning to the Priory for a drink. Bring a picnic. Contact Aiden 029 2056 4569

Sunday 25 May: Pen y Fan circuit: an 8 mile walk climbing to the summit of South Wales’s highest mountain (886m) in the Brecon Beacons and visiting the mountain lake Llyn Cwm Llwch .Meet at 11:00 at the car park at the end of a minor road 4 miles south west of Brecon (OS ref SO 006243). The car park can be reached by country lanes from the A470 at Libanus. Bring a picnic. Contact Peter 029 2048 4431

Sunday 29 June: Mid Wales walk. Meet at 12:00 at the Visitor Centre, Elan Valley reservoir. 9 mile walk, not too strenuous, across Epynt moor across some streams. Contact: Austin: 01597 825710

Sunday 27 July: Blorenge (near Abergavenny). A walk up taking in reservoirs connected with Blaenavon’s industrial past. Meet at 11:00 in the small car park in Llanfoist, known as the Llanfoist Crossing car park (OS ref 286132). Picnic lunch. Contact: Andrew: 07903 932 208

1 – 4 August: Annual GOC gathering at Worcester

Sunday 31 August: Our annual Monknash walk along the Glamorgan coast. Meet at 11:00, parking on the road outside Atlantic College. Bring picnic and a towel. Contact Ian 029 2061 2853

19 – 21 September: Annual all Wales Weekend (with the GOC 18-39 group too) staying Friday and Saturday nights at King’s Hostel ,Snowdonia ,with walks on Saturday and Sunday. Communal meal Saturday night. Contact: Robin Eccles £25 deposit, Tel: 01745 812257

Sunday 26 October: Carreg Cennen Castle. A gentle 4 mile walk with spectacular views of the castle (weather allowing). The path can be muddy if wet and there is a short steep climb at the end. Meet at Castle Car Park at 11:00.  To find the castle, follow the signs to Trap. From M4 follow A483 to Ammanford. Coninue through two sets of traffic lights onto A474 to Glanaman. About a mile from the town centre turn left to Trap (also signposted for municipal recycling centre). At Trap the Castle is well sign-posted. An option to visit the Castle (£3.50) and tea shop at the end of the walk. Contact: Huw 01639 894988.

Sunday 30 November: Wye Valley and the Devil’s Pulpit. A scenic 7 mile circular walk through natural woodland and along riverside paths with fine views of the Wye Valley AONB. Meet at 11:00 in small lay-by on A466 in Tintern (opposite Tintern Antiques, 300m north of the Royal George Hotel). Bring a picnic. Co-ordinators are Mark & Rich 029 2088 7708.

Sunday 14 December: South Wales Christmas Walk. An easy 4 mile walk from Radyr to the centre of Cardiff followed by lunch (£12.50) at Bar Ikon. Meet at Radyr railway station at 11:00. Contact Steve for details: 07918 166011
